A Day in My Life at Parsons School of Design

One of my most frequently asked questions is “what’s it like going to Parsons?” I figured the easiest way to give you that answer wouldn’t be just to tell you in a usual blog post, but to show you! I’m back again with another video {shocker, I know} to show you just what it’s like to go to Parsons School of Design at the New School!

I’m currently a first year at Parsons studying fashion design. I’ll be minoring in either political science or journalism at Eugene Lang, The New School’s liberal arts college {Lang fun fact: While Parsons is known for producing alumni such as Tom Ford and Zac Posen, Jason Wu, and Marc Jacobs, to name a few, Lang is actually Eleanor Roosevelt’s alma mater}. That’s one of the many things I really love about Parsons. We’re allowed to minor, or even to double major, at Eugene Lang! We’re encouraged by the school to do so and it really allows for a more diverse education.

I was really really uncertain about my college decision initially. I fell in love with Parsons when I toured, but with so many options, I couldn’t make a decision when it came down to it {I applied to a ton of schools and wasn’t expecting to get into any of them except maybe the University of Minnesota. So when I did, I didn’t know what to do}. It took me until that May 1st deadline to make a decision, but I can say with full certainty now that choosing Parsons was 100% the best decision I could’ve made. This school goes above and beyond in so many ways.

If you’d like to see a full video reviewing Parsons, or you have any questions at all about it {acceptance, preparing your portfolio, classes, professors} let me know in the comments, or DM me on Instagram here! I’m more than happy to answer anything you might be wondering about it!

xx,

E
