I’m completely guilty of spending an hour Googling “Instagrammable restaurants NYC” for an hour before heading out somewhere. In my quest to find the most Insta-worthy spots for food, I’ve stumbled upon my fair share of SoHo bakeries worth the shot.
After all, what’s the point of paying $6 for a croissant if you can’t photograph it? Pastries can be multipurpose, right?
Artsy SoHo bakeries may not be quite as hidden as the New York City underground art scene, but they still make for a fun stop while visiting the city. Here are the most Instagram-worthy bakeries you can find in SoHo.
Vesuvio
160 Prince St, New York, NY 10012
A word to describe Vesuvio? Darling. This storied SoHo bakery has reopened for business under its original name after many reiterations over the years. The bakery serves us Italian breads and treat behind a cozy green storefront, perfect for your next Instagram post or street-style photoshoot. Belle would approve.
Sézane
254 Elizabeth St, New York, NY 10012
In case you couldn’t tell from my Instagram, I’m all for a good floral moment. Sézane is for all of you floral lovers like myself.
As a fashion label, Sézane is not a traditional bakery. Instead, the space doubles as both a clothing store and a mini café for Maman NYC, which has one of the best pastry cases I’ve ever seen from a coffee shop chain.
Sézane is wonderfully French, bringing Parisian chic to NYC for all you francophiles out there.
Flour Shop
177 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10013
Whoever designed Flour Shop is either an interior design genius, knew the importance of “doing it for the ‘gram,” or both. This brightly colored bakery has not just one but two perfectly painted Instagram moments waiting to happen. You’ll have to visit in person to see the second!
Little Cupcake Bakeshop
30 Prince Street New York, NY 10012
If there’s any proof that Little Cupcake Bakeshop belongs on this list, it’s that I actually found it while in the middle of a shoot, looking for a cute backdrop for the outfit I was wearing (see that look and shoot here)!
Little Cupcake Bakeshop looks like a retro 1950’s diner and unlike the others on this list, stays open late. Open until 11 pm on weekdays and 12 am on weekends, this can be your midnight snack and your Instagram post for the next day.
Ladurée
398 W Broadway, New York, NY 10012
Ladurée’s macarons are just as cute as their pale green exterior! Should you decide to venture over to the iconic French bakery and tea room, be sure to try one of their rose macarons.
