Lilly Pulitzer Fall Collection Favorites 2016

September 2, 2016

If I’m being completely honest, in recent seasons, Lilly Pulitzer’s collections have been, well, less than impressive. That’s not to say that there weren’t a few absolutely gorgeous pieces mixed pieces in there {Um, the Melody Crop Set in La Via Loca, anyone?!}. I was so pleasantly surprised when Lilly released their fall collection which featured richer, but still bright colors, and {thankfully} backed off of the neons. While some of the prints still just came off looking far too similar to previous prints from other seasons, there are still a few standouts from this new release.

Marlowe Dress in Going Coastal

I love the Marlowe Dress because not only because of it’s clean, classic design, but also because it has a boatneck and 3/4 length sleeves, two of my favorite things!  Going Coastal easily has to be my favorite print of the Fall collection, the fish remind me of the older print Coastal Kiss, but the richer colors in Going Coastal make it perfect for the colder seasons!

Celyn Romper in Get Trunky

When I saw Get Trunky, it reminded me of a more detailed Pack Your Trunks, and when I first saw Pack You Trunks is reminded me of a more detailed Tusk in Sun.  Go figure.  Nonetheless, I love the flat line of the shorts and the free edge bodice with that gorgeous engineered border print in this romper.  Those details make it a little dressier and perfect for pairing with a cute pair of stilettos and going out!  I will say that while the orange straps of this romper are cute, they are very neon in person, you can’t say you haven’t been warned.
Lorna Trapeze Dress in Resort White
Lilly oh Lilly, why do you do this to me?! The beading and orange and pink embroidery on this dress make it so much fun, but pulling off this dress in a Minnesota fall would be a stretch, even for me who refuses to admit that at some point it becomes too cold for dresses and skirts.  There really isn’t anything I don’ like about this dress {even the back has the cute embroidery and beading}, except for the fact that it wasn’t released in May or June!
Kimi Cami in Going Coastal
I have recently fallen in love with silk camisoles, and the Kimi Cami is no exception!  This cami is so versatile and a perfect layering piece, especially in Going Coastal because it matches so many colors!  Dress it down with a pair of jeans and a military jacket, or up with a pencil skirt and a blazer!
What are your thoughts on Lilly’s Fall 2016 collection?  Any favorite pieces?  Leave them in the comments below!
