Holiday Gift Guide 2016: 15 Mugs for Easy Gifting

December 14, 2016

I’m back again with more gift-giving advice, and today we’re focusing on mugs. Why, you ask? Mugs are a sneaky gift that makes it easy to put together cute gift baskets or groups to give to friends and family member!  Think about it:

Mug + cozy socks + gourmet popcorn + movie {if you’re gifting during the holidays, I recommend “The Holiday,” such a cute film!} = the perfect gift for your friend or sister and also has all the supplies for her to have a cozy night in, or a fun girl’s night!

Mug + hot chocolate mix {or coffee or tea} + chocolate {or peppermint barks or candy canes} = cute and easy gift for really anyone on your list, or makes the perfect secret santa gift!

1. Limited Edition Golden Monogram Mug
Never did I ever think I’d be deeming something the “it mug,” but there’s no arguing that this is it. Everywhere I turn there’s someone else posting this mug on Instagram or on a blog, and the trend hasn’t stopped yet, with good reason. This mug has an overall classic feel but is made new with the shiny gold foil, a perfect example of classic with a twist, and a design that matches everyone’s style {although if you’re shopping for someone not a fan of the flashy gold, Anthro does make an all black version as well}.

2. Clay Art “Hello Gorgeous” Stackable Mug
This has to be one of my favorite mugs on the entire list. Not only is it afforadable {$4.99!}, it has my all-time favorite color pairing of metallic gold and soft pink, making it the perfect muf for the girly girl on your list.

3. Sparrow Emoji Mug
In my quest for the best mugs, I’ve come across quite a few versions of the emoji mug, but Sparrow’s has to be the cutest yet. Available in the “Blushing,” “Grumpy,” “Kiss,” “Love” “Sleepy,” and “Wink” emojis, there’s a mug to match every mood! {Shown here in “Kiss”}

4. Slant Collections “Hello” Mug
This mug keeps it simple, but makes it fun with metallic gold accent. It’s ideal for that sunny bubbly friend we all have who seems to always be saying “hi” to everyone!

5. Super Mario Mystery Box Mug
Confession: I’m secretly obsessed with Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart {it’s my hidden talent}. This mystery box mug is definitely unlike any mug I’ve seen before and think about it- a mystery box mug makes perfect sense, coffee and tea are basically power-ups in the real world anyway.

6. Clay Art Black Floral Soup Mug
A classic floral in a classic color makes this a safe option for basically anybody except your favorite minimalist.

7. Holiday Icon Mug
If you’re looking for something traditional and classic look no further than the Anthropologie Holiday Icon Mug!  This mug comes in classic Christmas icons such as reindeer and stockings.

8. Pour and Shoot Mug
Everytime I see this mug I have to laugh a little bit just because it’s such a clever idea!  It can be difficult to find photography related gifts for photographers sometimes, but this mug definitely solves that problem. Not only does it look just like a camera lens, the lid for the mug looks just like a lens cap!

9. Bloomingdale’s Storefront Mug
If you are or happen to know someone who loves to shop {guilty}, this is the mug for them!  Bloomingdale’s has always been one of my favorite department stores and their entire mug collection is tempting for well, any Bloomie’s obsessed girl out there.

10. Vandor Star Wars BB-8 Mug
I usually advise against getting anyone a novelty item from a franchise simply because these things tend to come and go fairly frequently and what’s in one year may not make a single appearance the next, but, Star Wars has been around forever and has a seemingly cult following making a gift for the Star Wars lover on your list a fairly safe move. This BB-8 mug is definitely one of the most unique Star Wars mugs I’ve seen yet, but Vandor doesn’t stop there. They also have an R2D2 version of this mug, a Darth Vader version, and a ton of other unique Star Wars related gifts.

11. Coffee Chemistry Mug
I like this mug for two reasons: 1. It’s clear which is definitely something you don’t see that often with mugs and 2. It speaks to something someone may like without having some sort of blatantly obvious pun. This mug is for the coffee and chemistry enthusiast with the chemical configurations for coffee all over it!

12. Wanderlust Mug
This mug is perfect for your favorite traveler. I’m absolutely obsessed with the galaxy print used on this!

13. Build-On Brick Mug
This mug is BYOB {bring your own bricks}. Although it doesn’t come with Legos, being able to build on this mug will excite any Lego aficionado nonetheless.

14. Banned Books Mug
Bookworm in your life?  I happen to have several. This mug is a little two faced with one side having banned books titles blacked out and the other the titles of the books. What’s better?  For each one of these mugs purchased, one book will be sent to a community in need.

15. Script Gold Initial Mug
What I absolutely adore about this mug is that while it follows the same idea of a gold monogram letter like the ever-so-popular Anthropologie version, the font used on it is definitely very unique and different.

Hopefully somewhere in this mug madness you managed to find one for whoever you may be gifting {or yourself ;}.  Let me know what you want to see next!

Love and Stay Preppy,
