It’s that time of year again, when all of a sudden thousands from the fashion area flock from all around the country to run around New York in more sequins and feathers than a craft store.
That’s right, New York Fashion Week is upon us and in the madness I forgot to recap my OOTD from Day 1 {although you can see it on Instagram by clicking here}. Nevertheless, day two I took a completely different direction for my look, jumping out of my comfort zone.
That black embroidered shawl? A gift from my aunt when I was probably 10 from one of her trips to Spain. Had I worn it before? No. Did I think I would ever? Probably not. So eight years later I find myself wearing it at one of the most public and prestigious events in fashion. Go figure.

The distressed denim shorts were another one-off in this outfit for me. While I wear them all the time for concerts and festivals, they’re definitely not something I’d ever really consider wearing outside of that context. Somehow though, they just made sense with this outfit.

The shoes, of course, had to be my favorite Sam Edelman Fuschia Tesla Pumps.

The bag happens to unexpectedly be one of my favorite things so far. It’s the perfect size for shows and fits a pair of flats, my wallet, my lipstick, phone, and anything else I might pick up along the way. It’s A.V.I. Collection, and the perfect shade of pink!
