What to Wear on Valentine’s Day – Your Guide from Day to Night

Valentine’s Day may be known for also being unofficial national “wear pink and red day,” but whether or not you can’t get enough of the traditional Valentine’s Day colors or you couldn’t stand them less than you already do, there’s ways for you to dress perfectly for what Hallmark’s made the most romantic day of the year!

For Casual

Are you looking to spread the love at school, just walking around, or hanging out at home? Click through to see Valentine’s Day outfits that would be perfect for all of the above.

For the pink and red lover: Cozy pink and red sweaters and pretty coordinating florals put you right into the Valentine’s Day mood!

For the anti-pink and red: Motifs such as hearts and neutral floral embroidery on denim give your look the air of romance without the color. These details are key for making your outfit feminine without the need for color! For a pop of color in your look, try an embroidered bootie or a fun earring.

For Work

Want to be in the Valentine’s Day spirit at the office or in a meeting but still need to look professional? I’ve got you covered with these outfits here:

Pink and red are some of your best employees in the workplace when they’re incorporated into professional pencil skirt and soft patterns. Use neutrals such as navy and black, or solids to balance out the patterns and colors.

No pink and red for you? No problem. Your outfit will still hint at the holiday by swapping out your usual collared button-down shirt for lovely lace or chiffon, or by incorporating subtle feminine detail such as bows and light ruffles.

For Date Night

Dressing up for anything is always fun, but Valentine’s Day is a special case, when there’s no ruffle too frilly or bow too big! From jumpsuits to picture perfect dresses, I’ve got your Valentine’s Date night outfit covered.

Pink and red hit the peak of their spotlight in twirl-worthy dresses and sparkly jewelry. Meanwhile, if pink and red really isn’t your thing, black in lace, sequins, and elegant jumpsuit plus glittery golds become your Valentine’s date night best friends.

Thanks Rebecca! I’m a total lover of anything pink, feminine, and sparkly, so every Valentine’s Day I find myself with the opposite of my usual “full closet and nothing to wear” dilemma — “Not enough time to wear everything in my closet!”
