February Beauty Favorites

March 9, 2018

I am awful when it comes to experimenting with new makeup. Like my favorite pajama shorts, I tend to have my beauty favorites {this lipstick, this mascara, and this eyeshadow} and never really venture outside of them. I did a LOT of experimenting this month, and found some new beauty favorites that I honestly like 10x better than some of their counterparts.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting 2-in-1 Foundation and Concealer

This 2-in-1 is $29 worth of pure goodness. Oh my stars I don’t think I’ve ever loved a face makeup product as much as I love this. I used to never wear a full foundation because I just didn’t really think they were doing anything for me, but this foundation makes my skin look flawless. I have really sensitive skin and I’m always worried that foundations and concealers will make my skin break out, but this one keeps my skin clear and not irritated.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

I’ve gone through several different eyeliners and several different types of eyeliners over the years without finding one that was perfect for me {more on my eyeliner woes in a later post}. The Kat Von D Tattoo Liner is by FAR my favorite. The liner isn’t a felt tip marker or crayon, it’s almost like a calligraphy brush. I’ve never once had an eyeliner that stays so truly black and that I can get even the thinnest line on. It’s worth every single penny.

Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Rosa Excelsa

For years I stuck with just two fragrances: Juicy Couture’s Viva la Juicy and Kate Spade’s Twirl. With both of the fragrances running low and being discontinued, I set out to find a new one. I’m obsessed with everything roses {rose flavored, rose scented, roses themselves}, so a rose fragrance seemed just perfect. This one didn’t disappoint. It’s rose scented and floral, but not to the point that it’s overwhelming.

Deborah Lippmann x Jason Wu Gel Lab Pro Color in Grey Day

I tend to stick to a french manicure when I’m doing my nails or getting them done for the sake of not having to worry about matching my outfit to my nails. I ventured out of my comfort zone with this blue toned neutral gray, and I couldn’t be happier that I did. As a matter of fact, I’ve worn it in more than on manicure this month {shocking, I know}. It’s truly beautiful on, and it applies opaquely and evenly.

Origins United State Balancing Tonic

I’m not going to lie. When I first saw this tonic, I was truly convinced that it did absolutely nothing. I got it as a sample with one of my recent Origins products {I’m truly Origins obsessed, I’d say it was a problem if my skin really wasn’t way better off for it} so I decided I’d give it a fair shot. I was wrong. This tonic made my skin brighter, and removed a lot of redness and blemish marks on my face. The first time I was trying it, the tonic stung slightly, but again, I have really sensitive skin, and I couldn’t love it more now.
