My first year of college is absolutely flying by so fast it feels like I can’t breathe! Although to be completely honest, I can’t decide if that’s because everything in my life is moving so fast right now, the smoke from the Parsons building*, or because I’m just behind on my gym routine and need to get back on a treadmill. Regardless, I’ve been getting lots of questions about Parsons recently, so I thought this would be the perfect time of the year to address them in one nice little {cough 24 minute long cough} video. After all, May 1st is just 17 days away. No pressure to all you college seniors out there or anything. 😉 If you are in the college decision-making process, check out the things you need to know while choosing a college that no one will ever tell you by clicking here.

Also, for any of you who have been following my weather woes: the forecast for NYC tomorrow is almost 80 degrees, so you can catch me not freezing in my miniskirt for the first time is forever *cue Frozen*. How I haven’t gotten frostbite or hypothermia yet this winter is anyone’s guess {or possibly the explanation to my Uber bill}. Have to get to my hard partying hippie school in the NYC blizzards somehow. How else am I going to get to witness the Parsons building going up in flames?*

All jokes aside, choosing Parsons over my nine other options was truly one of the best decisions I have ever made. I could not be more grateful to be at a more creatively stimulating school where I’m among SO many unbelievably talented and inspiring human beings who push me to work harder than I did yesterday every. single. day. This school definitely isn’t for everyone {understatement of the year}, but if it works for you, it’s incredible.

xx,

*Haha so cute little side story: two weeks ago, at 7 am, I woke up to a full on blizzard. After walking approximately half a block in {this} outfit, I realized there was no way I was about to be able to walk to school in the SHEET of snow that was falling from the sky {NYC didn’t salt any sidewalks because they weren’t expecting it. Lovely}, I called a Juno {find out what Juno is here}. So my Juno is like twenty minutes late because um hello, blizzard, so I end up running into class last minute. Mostly because I don’t tackle any 9 am class without my egg and cheese kaiser roll from our dining hall. About an hour into class, we start hearing a light ringing noise that sounded like an elevator alarm. Naturally, we just assumed someone got stuck in an elevator so we ignored and continued class. About 10 minutes later, someone went outside to fill up their water bottle and was greeted to large plumes of smoke coming out of the elevators and into the hallways, and an awful smell. We grab our things, run down the stairs, which at that point were also filled with smoke, and run outside, where a first FDNY truck was already waiting, and a second one was pulling up. Within a half hour, there were 5-8 fire trucks and three ambulances outside of the 2 W 13th Parsons building. Luckily, no one was injured, but the entire building needs to be rewired because apparently what started the fire was a transformer exploding in our basement print shop. The building’s out for the rest of the semester. The school’s trying to pretend it’s okay. It’s not, but I’ll give them credit for making things work and problem solving in a short amount of time. I really thought that if a smoke alarm was to go off in a Parsons building it would be because someone was smoking in class or ripping a Juul too hard. Go figure.
