J.Crew Seersucker Apron Dress in Brighton, Michigan

I have a seersucker addiction. No, really, I do. I own way more seersucker than the average person should, and I regret exactly none of it. On a rare afternoon that I was shopping in real life instead of online, I spotted this J. Crew seersucker apron dress and instantly fell in love.

 

 

This dress checks all of my favorite criteria:

 

-It’s fit and flare, which is universally flattering on everyone.

 

-It’s a modest length for family dinner, church, school, etc.

 

-The back has a tie detail, which is my FAVORITE. I will buy anything that has a bow tie knot detail in the back.

 

-It. has. pockets. Need I say more? Pockets in dresses are like the Reminder app on an iPhone, helpful and simple stroke of genius.

 

 

 

This dress not only has the cute bow tie detail in back, but it also has an elastic paper bag ruffle waistband as well. It’s a lovely touch that I wasn’t expecting when I first turned the dress around! The tie is adjustable and lets you create your own perfect fit through the bodice. I honestly would’ve never bought a pair of earrings like this for myself, but I’ve totally fallen in love with them! They kind of give me preppy 1960’s meets mod vibes and I’m totally here for it. My lovely friend Annie of Annie Wears It gave them to me as a gift, she also happened to take all of the gorgeous photos for this blog post! We took all these photos in Brighton, Michigan, which is a cute little town outside of Detroit.

 

 

This dress also comes in red linen, which trust me, I was SO tempted to get, but I ultimately decided that the seersucker I would get more use out of. The red would be the perfect dress for the 4th of July though, and will be linked along with the seersucker below! 20/20 hindsight, the seersucker apron dress is so comfortable that I’m thinking I probably would’ve gotten use out of the red too. BOTH versions of this dress are surprisingly under $55! 🙌🏻
