I Tried TEMPTU’s TEMPTU Air Handheld Airbrush Makeup – Here’s What Happened

This post was sponsored by TEMPTU. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ll admit, whenever I’ve thought about airbrush makeup, my first thoughts were that it was never something I could do. My idea of airbrush makeup was those black boxes professional makeup artists have with cords and pipes and nozzles and a whole setup. I’ve been overall very upfront with you all that my makeup skills are well…not pro level. Airbrush makeup was always what I thought of when it came to wedding makeup, or special events. Not the day to day. It was certainly something that my streaky foundation wearing self could never try, right?

Wrong. As wrong as leather on an 80 degree day or stripes with plaid wrong.

When TEMPTU approached me about a potential collaboration, I’ll admit that I was a little intimidated. I actually texted my makeup obsessed sister asking what she knew about it, because I figured that if she hadn’t tried it, there’s no way that I should. After all, I had *just* turned in my foundation brush for a teardrop shaped sponge the week before. Well loves, it turns out that I no longer need either of the above beauty tools because guess what? I tried airbrush makeup, and I. Loved. It.

They sent along their Rose Gold Kit, exclusive for holiday {but seriously y’all, rose gold?! You’re speaking to my soul over here. I’ll take five, please}, and nervously I opened the box to find four teardrop shaped pods and the limited edition rose gold TEMPTU Air. After getting fed up with my streaking foundation from my brushes and from pounding my skin with a makeup sponge, I took it out of the box and gave it a go.

The TEMPTU Air may be as far away from a black box with pipes and cords and nozzles as you can go. It’s compact, portable, and a lot more lightweight than I expected it to be.  Do you see that brush holder on my sink? Note how all my big brushes are gone? That’s because I don’t need them with this. I’m probably going to throw the TEMPTU Air in my suitcase and travel with it because it’s way easier than trying to bring six different brushes just to do my face makeup.

I didn’t realize this, but the TEMPTU Air doesn’t just do foundation, it also applies primer, blush, and highlighter, which are all included in this kit. There are three settings to control how heavy the makeup applies. I use a heavier one for my foundation than I do my blush and highlighter.

The blush and highlighter have unbelievable pigment. The blush has easily buildable color, while the highlighter has lots of shimmer and sparkle {my fave, because you know ya girl loves to glow}. Below I’ve swatched the highlighter on top and blush on the bottom.

Admittedly, it took me maybe five minutes to figure out how the TEMPTU Air worked and test it out on my arm a little before going ahead and applying it to my face. Using it feels kind of like a mist machine. Soft, cool, and refreshing.

What I love most about the TEMPTU Air?

It’s just so easy.

I don’t think I can say this enough. For a long time, I stayed away from regular foundation because I was scared of it being streaky or uneven. Using the TEMPTU Air, it’s literally impossible for your foundation to apply streaky, and as long as you keep the device moving across your face {TEMPTU recommends a four finger distance}, there’s really no way for it to be uneven, either. Learning how to apply foundation with TEMPTU’s handheld airbrush vs. traditionally took me a lot less trial and error.

The TEMPTU Rose Gold limited edition kit is almost sold out, so get one while you can! It makes the perfect gift for your mother, siblings, friends, or yourself this holiday season. Once again, thank you to TEMPTU for letting me try out this device. The TEMPTU Air is truly one of my favorite beauty tools on the market right now, and I’m excited to continue experimenting with it!

E
