Thank you XOXO for sponsoring this post and allowing me to go to Her Conference NYC! All opinions as always, are my own.
My college babes – do you ever feel lost when it comes to job searching? Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the amount of options you have after graduation? Have you ever had an idea but you didn’t know how to put it in action? Do you see your friends with fabulous internships but have no idea how they got them because you’re on your 135th rejection letter? Then Her Conference is for you. Every year for the last eight years, college lifestyle website Her Campus has been hosting Her Conference. Her Conference is a one day even where college women can attend panels and hear keynote speakers giving advice on how to navigate internships, the job hunt, starting a business, and so much more. This year, I had the opportunity to go with one of the sponsors of the event, XOXO, and one of my blogger besties, Andreina Valderrama.
MY LOOK
Dressing your best is always important, but it’s especially important when you’re making a first impression to hundreds of new people at a conference! XOXO kept Andreina and I looking our best all day long. In the images above, I’m wearing a XOXO white lace bodysuit, paired with a black and white high low skirt, gold metallic heels, and a palm print headband. Andreina wears a XOXO white suit, and nude pumps. XOXO has on-trend, versatile pieces that can take you from day to night at a fantastic price point. I also styled the lace bodysuit I’m wearing for a day on the lake, with a XOXO striped mini skort.

The shoes I’m wearing are also XOXO. They’re extremely comfortable and great if you want to wear a heel, but also need to be on your feet or walking around a lot. Plus, they match everything! I’ll be wearing them all summer long.

I’m loving this look as a potential outfit for the 4th of July as the skirt’s colors are almost a faded red, white, and blue.
HER CONFERENCE
Her Conference opened with the founders of Her Campus giving the opening remarks. Windsor Western, Stephanie Kaplan Lewis, and Annie Wang looked phenomenal in their pink suits! These three ladies inspire me every. single. day. Following their remarks was Michelle Carter, an Olympic gold medalist in shot put, giving the first keynote speech. Michelle was so charismatic and has an amazing success story. I wasn’t entirely familiar with her prior to the conference, but I’m now a fan!
My favorite panel of the day was the panel on social media strategists. SMMs from the Daily Beast, JP Morgan & Chase, the New York Times, and SHAPE magazine spoke on how they got into the industry and what their day to day looks like. As someone who’s job is in the social media space, I found this really interesting and insightful!

TIPS FOR ATTENDING
- If registration starts at 8:15, get there at 8. Lines will be long and those few extra minutes will let you start exploring the brand activations and breakfast earlier!
- Bring a portable charger. The day is long {roughly 10 hours start to finish} and charging isn’t available onsite.
- Wearing heels? Bring sneakers or flats for getting to and from BKLYN Studios and in case your feet get tired. The conference is two floors and a lot of time spent on your feet between keynote speakers and panels!
- Rideshare apps and the subway are your best friend. BKLYN Studios has virtually no parking, even by NYC standards. Even if you do park, you’ll likely have to walk a few blocks to get to the venue regardless. BKLYN Studios is only 20 minutes outside of Manhattan. It’s a really inexpensive Uber, Lyft, Juno, or Via!
- Bring your résumé or at a minimum, business card. You never know who you might meet!
- I’ve found that for conferences, having a tote bag or larger satchel is much more preferable to a crossbody bag, especially since Her Conference loves swag {and so do I}
THE BOTTOM LINE
Her Conference was a gathering of like-minded, determined college women, and it was amazing to see everyone coming together and making some awesome new connections! Thank you so much to XOXO for allowing me to go. You can shop what I’m wearing in this post at an affordable price by clicking here.
