Growing up on the Eden Prairie-Bloomington border, my family and I were regulars at all kinds of restaurants in Eden Prairie, ranging from fast food to sit-down dining. Eden Prairie may not be the culinary epicenter of Minnesota, but it is home to several worthwhile restaurants for dining in the suburbs.
It’s safe to say that the Eden Prairie dining scene is close to home (and not just geographically). For years, my aunt and uncle actually owned one of these restaurants, closing it just a few months ago after 32 years of serving Minnesotans.
The best restaurants in Eden Prairie include everything from authentic Venezuelan areas to Indian pizza (yes, you read that right). You’ll find locally owned fast-casual spots, family-friendly taverns, and American grill houses.
The Best Restaurants in Eden Prairie, MN
India Palace
936 Prairie Center Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
India Palace is my family’s go-to for Indian food in Eden Prairie. The restaurant specializes in North Indian cuisine, serving an extensive menu of curries, biryani, and balti, along with Indian breads such as naan, paratha, and chapati. You’ll find tons of vegetarian options, in addition to lamb, chicken, and seafood dishes.
Some like it hot, but if you don’t, you’re not alone. Spice level is customizable for any main dish, ranging from mild to extra extra hot. For spicier requests, I’ve noticed that the heat level can be a little inconsistent from order to order. The paneer makhani at a “hot” spice level is always my pick.
Stop by India Palace for lunch to try their lunch special. Seven days a week, you can choose to sample three different entrees, bundled with naan, rice, and a dessert.

TequeArepa
7733 Flying Cloud Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
Arepas are a traditional dish from Venezuela and Colombia. The origin of the dish is hotly contested, and the sandwich is prepared differently between the countries, but at its core, an arepa is a stuffed corn dough sandwich. I fell in love with arepas while in Colombia, and was so excited to find an arepa restaurant so close to home. I still can’t believe I didn’t know about it earlier!
TequeArepa serves up authentic Venezuelan arepas in Eden Prairie. I’ve been to another popular arepa restaurant in the Twin Cities claiming to be “authentic,” but can confirm that TequeArepa is the real deal.
Also on the menu are other staple Venezuelan plates such as tajadas, cachapas, tequenos de queso blanco, and empanadas. I opted for the Patapata arepa, and yuca fries (of course, can’t skip the yuca).
The Patapata arepa is filled with cheddar cheese, black beans, and avocado. Though simple, it hit the spot exactly. Believe it or not, my arepa from TequeArepa was better than some of the vegetarian arepas I had in Colombia. I’ll skip the yuca fries next time—they weren’t the best I’ve ever had and were overpriced for the portion size. Hopefully, other sides don’t have the same issue.
TequeArepa is conveniently located near tons of office buildings, earning it a reputation as one of the best lunch restaurants in Eden Prairie. I wouldn’t stop by if you’re short on time, however—we waited over 45 minutes for our food to come out, despite the restaurant being counter service. I’m sure it was an off night, but I wouldn’t risk it.
My Burger
9258 Hennepin Town Rd, Eden Prairie, MN 55347
Skip Shake Shack, and try this locally-owned burger chain instead. My Burger operates eight locations in Minnesota in addition to a food truck, flipping quality burgers since 2004.
This family-run joint elevates typical American fast food, operating in the chasm between national burger chains and upscale eateries. You could go for one of My Burger’s gourmet creations like the Pretzel Bender, a sausage patty topped with gooey cheddar cheese, crunchy fried onions, and whole grain mustard mayo on a pretzel bun; or the fiery Hotness Monster, a hamburger patty topped with Tabasco bacon, pepper jack cheese, blackened spice, tabasco mayo, jalapeños, and tomato on a brown buttered bun; but no one would fault you for going for a classic hamburger or bacon cheeseburger, either.
My Burger doesn’t leave out vegetarians, either. Plant-inclined diners can enjoy an Impossible burger or a veggie burger.
I’m a potato enthusiast (there’s got to be a name for that), which means that fries are a must. At My Burger, you can customize them with cajun or jerk spices. Whatever you do, make sure you order spicy mayo for dipping.
Punch Pizza

If you asked me which local Twin Cities restaurant chain is most likely to become a national phenomenon, my answer would unequivocally be Punch Pizza. There’s so much to love about Punch Pizza. This local, family-owned pizza chain has locations across the Twin Cities, serving wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. The fast-casual pizza joint is at the perfect intersection of quality and price—Punch Pizza isn’t just one of the best pizza restaurants in Eden Prairie, it’s truly one of the best in the state. Pizza prices start at just $8.50.
All of Punch Pizza’s signature pizzas are customizable. If you’re looking to write your own adventure, start with a Margherita or Napoli base, and build your own.
Though it may be named for pizza, Punch Pizza’s salads are nearly as popular at their pies. The extensive salad menu offers a Pulcinella option, which is a warm focaccia filled with any of Punch’s salads.
I’ve had countless Punch Pizzas over the years. Lately, I’ve been gravitating to the Adriatico, a classic pizza topped with fresh mozzarella, crushed tomato, feta, caper, onion, saracene olive, and oregano. I can’t resist adding artichoke to mine.
Not nearly talked about enough is how Punch Pizza stands by its employees. Working in the restaurant industry is tough work, but Punch supports employees through competitive pay and formal training programs for employees to rise through the corporate ranks—even if they start their career at Punch as a cashier.
Campiello
6411 City W Pkwy, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
Campiello‘s ivy-covered exterior looks more like it belongs in Tuscany than it does a strip mall in Eden Prairie.
Part of the D’Amico family of restaurants, this traditional Italian restaurant in Eden Prairie serves a menu of reliable Italian favorites like spaghetti and meatballs, and wood-fired pizza.
The restaurant doesn’t exclude those with dietary restrictions from its Italian fare. Campiello offers a cauliflower crust option, along with a small handful of vegetarian plates (vegans might struggle here).
In addition to its permanent dinner menu, Campiello serves a rotating regional menu on a monthly basis. Recently, the menu highlighted Italy’s Emilia Romagna region (my personal favorite type of Italian food).

Redstone Grill
8000 Town Ctr Pl, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
Redstone Grill is an American grill house chain known for its wood-fired steaks. Though the chain now has locations nationally, the original Redstone location is in Minnesota. Local restauranteur, Dean Vlahos (also behind popular suburban restaurants BLVD, Champps, CōV, and Pub 42), founded Redstone in Wayzata in 1999.
It may feel simplistic, but “Breaking Bread,” Redstone’s spread sampler, is truly my favorite thing on the menu. Warm bread covered in flaky sea salt is served alongside garlic butter, basil pesto, and a rotating third dip (currently, it’s cauliflower artichoke dip, previously, it was a wonderful roasted red pepper spread).
Redstone is low on vegetarian options, so I opted for a mushroom flatbread. It was a solid pick, nothing mind-blowing, but still very crave-worthy. Unfortunately, it’s been removed from the current menu, but hopefully will make a reappearance soon.
Pricing at Redstone ranges from reasonably priced, casual plates and appetizers, to expensive steak and seafood.
Bombay Pizza Kitchen
16518 W 78th St, Eden Prairie, MN 55346
My sister introduced me to the concept of Indian pizza by taking me to Curry & Pie, one of her favorite restaurants in Washington, D.C. Although originally baffled by the concept, I quickly became a believer.
I haven’t come across many Indian pizzerias since my original introduction in D.C., but Eden Prairie happens to have two of them: Bombay Pizza Kitchen, and Pizza Karma. I’ve yet to try Pizza Karma, only managing to try Bombay Pizza Kitchen on a recent visit to Minnesota when I ordered through Doordash.
Bombay Pizza Kitchen isn’t the highest quality pizza in Minnesota (the crust could have been better), but it’s great for what it is. I ordered the Bombay Butter Masala pizza with Masala Paneer and the Bombay Chaat Fries. The pizza arrived with a generous amount of paneer on a bed of creamy butter masala sauce in lieu of traditional pizza sauce. The Bombay Chaat Fries should be skipped.
If you’re hesitant to try Indian pizza, Bombay Pizza Kitchen also offers classic pizzas such as pepperoni and Hawaiian. The pizzeria also has a build-your-own option, where you can combine Indian sauces with traditional pizza toppings like mushrooms, sausage, and jalapeños. Of course, if you’re not feeling pizza at all, you could try the restaurant’s spiced chicken wings, or curry bowls (a healthier alternative, using cauliflower rice in lieu of traditional basmati rice).
Nautical Bowls
16534 W 78th St, Eden Prairie, MN 55346
Trying to find a healthy restaurant in Eden Prairie can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack. Save for a People’s Organic (that I personally, wouldn’t recommend), the options are nearly nonexistent. Nautical Bowls is one of the few options.
This casual spot serves açaí bowls, in addition to other superfood-charged snacks. The restaurant accommodates several different dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, and soy-free diets.
Bowls aren’t just limited to açaí—blue magik (spirulina extract), pitya, mango, chia pudding, and coconut can all be used as bases. Bowls are topped with options including fresh fruit like strawberries and bananas, cacao nibs, and pumpkin seeds.
Nautical Bowls is definitely one of the best options for healthy food in Eden Prairie, but it’s really more like healthy desert than anything else—even though bowls don’t have refined sugar, they are very high in sugar overall.
Note: Nautical Bowls has been accused of a few different controversies over the past few years. Only one has been proven (opening against state mandate), hence why it still makes this list. I absolutely do not condone hate, discrimination, or employee maltreatment of any kind.
Original Pancake House
549 Prairie Center Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
When it comes to breakfast restaurants in Eden Prairie, Original Pancake House is hardly beat.
Though it might be a chain, the Original Pancake House still delivers. Best known for its Dutch pancakes, this Eden Prairie breakfast restaurant serves up classic American breakfast staples like omelets, eggs benedict, french toast, waffles, and corned beef hash in addition to well, a lengthy list of pancakes, of course.
The hashbrowns can probably be skipped, but the apple pancakes shouldn’t be. My family and I have been stopping by the breakfast institution since I was young to split the franchise’s large, cinnamon-y apple pancakes (one of my all-time favorite breakfast foods).

Aurelia’s Authentic Mexican Food

Aurelia’s is a popular Eden Prairie restaurant for authentic Mexican food. The menu encompasses many traditional Mexican plates hard to find in the Twin Cities suburbs, such as flautas, machote, chile relleno, sope, and tamales. Of course, popular Mexican meals including burritos, quesadillas, tacos, and enchiladas are also on the menu.
Orders can be placed online in advance through Aurelia’s website, or via Doordash.
Lion’s Tap
16180 Flying Cloud Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55347
In 1933, Severin II and Ernest Peterson built a vegetable stand to market their homegrown vegetables on the land that would eventually become Lion’s Tap. The Petersons tapped Mike and Inga Larson to run the stand, who decided to start pouring beer in addition to the produce being sold. The stall turned into a neighborhood bar, convincing the Larsons to sell gas. Over the years, as the market changed hands, focus continually shifted away from produce, and into the bar business.
“Lion’s Tap” wouldn’t be coined until 1977, but in 1958, the history of its hamburger was born when Irene Lyons took the helm of the produce stand-turned-bar.
It’s safe to say that Lion’s Tap isn’t just one of the oldest restaurants in Eden Prairie, but also one Eden Prairie’s most well-known burger joints. This family-friendly restaurant in Eden Prairie prides itself on its straightforward burger menu, making it a hit with locals.
Pizza Karma
8451 Joiner Way, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
In 2018, Pizza Karma opened its flagship location in Eden Prairie, bringing Indian-fusion pizza to Eden Prairie. Since then, the tandoor-fired pizza chain has expanded to a food truck and two additional locations in Maple Grove and Apple Valley.
Fan favorites here are the cayenne-dusted crispy okra fries, dry rub wings, lamb meatball pizza, and chicken tikka pizza. Aside from pizza, tandoor-fired wraps and Indian-inspired salads are also up for your indulgence.
A noticeable difference between Pizza Karma is that Pizza Karma tops its Indian pizzas with mozzarella, whereas Bombay Pizza Kitchen relies more heavily on its Indian toppings alone (similar to what I’ve seen from other Indian pizza places).
Hawaii Poke Bowl
8353 Crystal View Rd #103, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
Hawaii Poke Bowl may be local to Minnesota, but their Poke techniques hail from Hawaii. Founded in Apple Valley, MN, this fast-casual poke bowl spot is making a name in Eden Prairie as a tasty fast casual option.
The counter service restaurant offers a few signature bowls, in addition to a DIY option. I’m pleasantly surprised to see a vegetarian bowl on the menu—incredibly rare at poke bowl spots;
Tavern 4&5
16396 Wagner Way, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
Tavern 4&5 is one of the top restaurants Eden Prairie has for modern American tavern food. The restaurant boasts a menu inspired by its rotisserie and wood-fired oven, in addition to a selection of local and national craft beers.
From 2 to 5 pm Monday to Friday, Tavern 4&5 offers a happy hour, with drinks starting at $4, and plates as low as $5.
Wildfire
8251 Flying Cloud Dr #3020, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
Another Eden Prairie Center restaurant, Wildfire is a top pick for locals in the area craving upscale American steakhouse fare.
The chain’s first restaurant outside of Illinois, the restaurant has a 1940s theme and serves steak, chops, and seafood straight from Chicago.
Diner favorites include the seasonal Macadamia Nut-Crusted Halibut plated with roasted asparagus and lemon butter and the dill-crusted walleye. Reviewers also rave about the restaurant’s choice to offer skillet cornbread instead of a typical baguette.
Wildfire is a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, making it a popular choice for restaurant gift cards in Eden Prairie.
